Hi, my name is Yaro. Originally from Ukraine, I'm now based in London.
I was born into a musical family and was surrounded by sound and
creativity from an early age. I started learning cello at the age of six
while also attending dance classes and art school. Eventually, I had to
leave those pursuits behind and commit all my time to the cello.
After completing my studies in my hometown Rivne, I moved to Kyiv to
continue further my education at the M.Lysenko Specialized Music School
and later at the National Academy of Music.
When in 2013 the revolution in Ukraine started to unfold, my
conservatoire was partially closed, and the part that remained open was
extremely unsafe to attend.
At that time,a series of unexpected eventsbrought me to London, where
I auditioned on a whim at the Royal College of Music. I was fortunate to
be offered both a place and a scholarship, so I decided to leave my
studies back home and begin a new chapter in London.
I joined the Philharmonia Orchestra in 2018. This has always been one
of my favourite orchestras, and I feel extremely fortunate to be part of
this extraordinary group!
Then, of course, covid-19 arrived. The extended periods without
performances felt very strange. However, this unexpected pause gave me
the opportunity to explore new hobbies and passions I never had the time
for in the past. Each of these activities revealed different aspects of
my personality. I could spend countless days in a pottery studio or with
a camera in my hands, I graduated from the Interior Design Institute and
completed a course in Feng Shui. I also enjoy learning salsa. Most
recently, I have been learning how to code and created this website from
scratch as part of my course.
This website is still a work in progress, and I look forward to
sharing updates related to both my creative journey and my exploration
of coding as it develops. I would truly value hearing your
thoughts-feedback, suggestions, or just a simple note to connect are
always welcome.
I built this weather app using React and an API from Open Weather. Please check it out in horizontal layout, I still haven't figured out how to make it responsive.
